Brown Recluse Spiders
Tan to brown with a dark violin shape behind the head. They have six eyes in pairs, where most spiders have eight.
Quick answerMagic Pest & Lawn treats brown recluse spiders in Austin and 26 nearby towns. They're covered on the quarterly pest plan, from $90 a visit, with free return visits between treatments. No contract. Call or text 512-203-0525.
Signs you have them
- Small, irregular webs in corners and boxes
- Shed skins in storage areas
- Spiders caught on glue boards
Why it matters
The venom can cause a slow-healing wound in some people. Get medical care for any suspected recluse bite.
How we treat it
Inside and outside treatment, attic dusting, and glue boards in storage areas to monitor them. Recluses need steady follow-up, which is why they fit a quarterly plan.
Prevention
- Store items in sealed plastic bins instead of cardboard
- Shake out clothes and bedding stored for a while
- Pull beds away from walls so bedding doesn't touch the floor
