Grub Worms
C-shaped, cream-colored larvae with brown heads and six legs. They're the larvae of June beetles and masked chafers.
Quick answerMagic Pest & Lawn treats grub worms in Austin-area lawns as its own treatment, priced by lot size. Text a photo and the office can usually tell you what it is. Call or text 512-203-0525.

Signs you have them
- Brown patches of turf that peel up like carpet
- Skunks, armadillos, and birds digging in the lawn
- Five or more grubs per square foot when you pull back the sod
Why it matters
They eat grass roots in late summer and fall, which kills turf in patches.
How we treat it
A soil insecticide watered in within 24 hours, timed for late summer when young grubs are near the surface.
Prevention
- Water deeply and less often
- Check under brown patches before assuming it's drought
