Roof Rats
Slender, dark-brown or black rats with large ears, a pointed nose, and a tail longer than the body.
Signs you have them
- Scratching in the attic at night
- Droppings about 1/2 inch long with pointed ends
- Gnawed wires and fruit in trees
- Grease marks along beams and entry holes
Why it matters
They chew wiring, which is a fire risk, contaminate insulation, and carry diseases.
How we treat it
Inspection, then exclusion: we seal every entry point we find. Snap traps come next, with weekly checks until activity stops. Sealed entry points carry a 1-year warranty.
Prevention
- Trim branches at least 6 feet from the roof
- Pick up fallen fruit and pet food
- Keep firewood and debris off the ground
From a customer
“He did an inspection of the exterior of my home & interior of my attic. Removed a dead mouse, & reset traps + bait. He sent me photos to help me take new steps for preventative.”
