Biting & Stinging Pests · Austin, Texas
Wasps, Hornets & Mud Daubers
Paper wasps are long and reddish-brown or yellow-and-black, with open-comb nests. Yellowjackets are compact and bright yellow and black. Mud daubers are slim black-and-blue wasps that build mud tubes.

Signs you have them
- Umbrella-shaped paper nests under eaves
- Wasps flying in and out of a wall gap or ground hole
- Mud tubes on siding and ceilings
Why it matters
Stings are painful and can be dangerous for people with allergies. Yellowjackets defend their nest aggressively.
How we treat it
We spray and knock down nests within reach, up to 15 to 20 feet. There's no preventative treatment for wasps, so there's no ongoing warranty. If we miss a nest, we come back within 7 days at no charge. We knock down nests free during any visit where you're already getting paid service.
Prevention
- Check eaves and playsets in early spring, when nests are small
- Seal gaps in siding and soffits
- Keep trash cans closed
From a customer
“Brandon showed up ON TIME (yep!) and took care of my extensive collection of wasp nests that I thought were yellow jacket nests. His explanation of where they were and how he treated them was thorough and informative.”
